Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are thrilled to welcome back our returning students and extend a warm greeting to all the new families joining our Rose community. Our guiding theme this year is “This Is Our Year to Grow! 🌱”
Last year, we laid a strong foundation by coming together to elevate our campus culture and climate. This year, we are taking those strong relational roots and using them as a launchpad to deepen our collective academic growth- while continuing to nurture the vibrant school culture, strong sense of community, and everyday joy that make Rose so special!

⚠️ Important Note on Backpack Availability: We have a strict limit of only 60 backpacks available total this year! Backpacks are reserved exclusively for incoming Rose TK–6th grade students who are in true financial need of a new bag. To ensure every child who truly needs one receives support, please only request a backpack if your family is in need. Backpacks will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

1. Campus Access Compact (NEW THIS YEAR)
2. Aeries Authorizations & Emergency Card
- Log in to the Aeries Parent Portal.
- Update emergency contacts and complete authorizations.

Print and sign the Emergency Card and send it with your child on the first day.
3. ParentSquare Setup
- Download the ParentSquare app and log in using the email associated with Aeries.
- This is our primary communication tool—stay informed!
4. Teacher Assignments
- Classroom assignments will be posted at the Welcome Home Event on August 12 (2:30–4:00 PM) and viewable online via the Aeries Parent Portal on August 12th.
- Class placements are made thoughtfully and may shift during the first 3 weeks as enrollment is finalized. Overflow students will be supported in a temporary classroom until permanent placement is available.

All students must be present on the first day of school to secure their spot in their class. Students who are absent on August 13 may be placed in another class or at another school, depending on space availability. If your child is sick or unable to attend, please contact the school office right away so we can review next steps.

Monday, August 17 – Friday, August 21: MINIMUM DAY WEEK FOR KINDERGARTEN ONLY (Grades TK and 1–6 return to regular full-day schedule).
Before Arriving on Campus:
- ✔️ Use the restroom
- ✔️ Bring a filled water bottle
- ✔️ Bring signed Emergency Card
- ✔️ Ensure emergency contacts are reachable
- ✔️ Confirm arrangements for afterschool pickup (12:00 PM for TK/K; 12:35 PM for 1st–6th)

If your student needs medication during school hours or has medical needs we should be aware of prior to August 13th, please notify the Rose Front Office.

Medication Permits: Must be filled out by your child's doctor before medication can be stored in the office. Our Front Office can email you the required forms.

Turn-In Date: Please bring completed permits and prescribed medication (in original packaging) to the office on or before the first day of school.

Morning Arrival (Campus Opens at 7:30 AM)

Breakfast: Begins at 7:30 AM (students eat at picnic tables).

Valet Drop-Off (Grades 1–6): Enter on Roswell Drive. Drive through to the yellow sidewalk dots. Drivers remain in the vehicle while staff/student valets assist. Students enter through the gate next to the Multi-Use Room and proceed to their line-up area.

Kindergarten Arrival: Parents/guardians park in the main lot/surrounding streets and walk students to the primary playground line-up area behind the 200 building.

TK, Room 204 (Ms. Dacy), and all SPED Classes (201, 207, and 406) Arrival: Please drop your student off at the front gate in the staff parking lot starting at 7:45. Staff members will be there to welcome them and breakfast will be provided in the classroom.

Campus Access: You are welcome to accompany your child through the main gate to wait with them in line, but once teachers pick them up, please wait outside the gate leading to the classrooms to ensure a smooth drop-off. Please complete the Campus Access Compact prior to coming on campus.
Dismissal

Valet Pick-Up (Grades 1–6): Enter on Roswell Drive and pull up to the yellow dots. Drivers must remain in vehicles. If your student is not present, you will be asked to loop back around to keep traffic moving.

TK/K Pick-Up: Parents park and meet students at the Kindergarten Gate (next to Room 101). Staff will verify caregivers prior to release.

Walking Students: Students exiting through the Temple Drive path will leave from the side gate (the Temple Drive gate remains locked at all times for security). Parents waiting to walk with 1st–6th graders may wait in the staff parking lot.
- All students must be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal; after 15 minutes, they will be escorted to the office to call home.

Both Think Together and CDC begin on the first day of school, Thursday, August 13.

Think Together: Runs daily until 6:00 PM. As part of our MUSD+ program, Think Together is now for students who qualify under the designation of ELOP (free/reduced lunch, foster youth, or unhoused services).

MUSD Child Development Center (CDC): Provides after-school care for students who do not qualify under the ELOP designation and TK students. Contact (408) 635-2686 for enrollment.

Dress Code: Uniforms are optional. Closed-toe shoes are required daily.

Labels: Please label all jackets, water bottles, and backpacks with your child’s first and last name!

Nutrition: Lunch is provided for all students daily. TK/Kinder students have the option to eat lunch during the school day on minimum days as well!
💡 Helpful First-Day Tips
- Adjust bedtime and morning routines to make drop-off easier.
- Stay positive and calm during morning drop-off- it sets the tone for your child’s day!
🎒 Backpacks & Supplies
- If your child does not have a backpack, we will provide one tomorrow. All basic school supplies will be provided by Rose. Teachers may send home an optional supply list for families who wish to donate items to the classroom.
