In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 19. We look forward to seeing all our Tigers back on campus on Tuesday, January 20.
Why We Celebrate: This federal holiday honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a pivotal leader in the American Civil Rights Movement. We take this day to reflect on his message of equality, justice, and nonviolence. Dr. King dedicated his life to the dream that all people—regardless of the color of their skin—should have the same opportunities and be treated with dignity and respect.
At Rose School, we use this time to think about how we can live out his values by being kind neighbors and standing up for one another. It is often referred to as a "Day On, Not a Day Off," as many families choose to honor his memory by participating in community service or acts of kindness.
🐾 The Tiger Kindness Challenge: To honor Dr. King’s dream of a better world, we challenge every student to complete one act of kindness over the long weekend. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, picking up litter at a local park, or writing a thank-you note to someone who helps you, your small actions make a big difference!
