📨 Fall Conferences
Fall Conferences are right around the corner (September 29-October 3)! Families, please keep an eye out for conference invitations from your child’s teacher. These important meetings are a great opportunity to connect, reflect on progress, and set goals together. Conference week will be minimum days; TK/K release at 12:01; 1st-6th at 12:35.

🪀 Yo-Yos at Rose
Yo-Yo sales will continue through Wednesday, September 17th in the mornings (7:45–8:00am) at the MUR doors. Cash or checks only, made out to MUSD with Rose Elementary in the Memo. Wednesday will be the LAST DAY for sales.

• Primary students → lunch recess only, in the “Yo-Zone” by the primary class lines
• Intermediate students → all recesses, in the “Yo-Zone” by the intermediate class lines
• TK & Kinder students → yo-yos must be used at home only

👉 Next week will be the last week yo-yos are allowed on campus. After Friday, September 19th, we encourage students to continue practicing tricks at home.

🏈 Attendance Draft Week – September 15–19
This coming week is our Attendance Draft Week! We’re aiming for 100% perfect attendance every day.

• Every student matters—just like in a draft, every player is needed “on the team” to win!
• Winning classes will earn prizes!
• We’ll end the week with a Sports Spirit Day on Friday, September 19. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports gear!

🎨 Jersey Design Contest
As part of Attendance Draft Week, we’re holding a Jersey Design Contest!

• Each student can design their own team jersey.
• One winner from each class will be featured on a poster in the hallway.
• Submissions due Monday, September 22.
• Winners announced at the ROAR Rally on Friday, September 26.

📅 PTO Meeting
Join us for our PTO meeting Thursday, September 18 from 6:00–7:00pm in the Learning Center. We’d love to see you there!

🌍 International Dot Day – September 15
On Monday, Rose will join schools around the world in celebrating International Dot Day, inspired by Peter Reynolds’ book The Dot. Families can join in by encouraging children to:
✨ Dress in polka dots
✨ Create dot-inspired art at home
✨ Talk about ways they can “make their mark” on the world through kindness and creativity

📝 Independent Study Reminder
Rose will be following our Independent Study (IS) policy this year:

• IS contracts are for 3–14 missed days only
• Must be requested 10 school days in advance
• Families will meet with administration before approval
• Work must be fully completed and returned for absences to be excused
• IS not available: first 10 days of school, before/after breaks of 5+ days, or after April 1st
• Students absent 10+ days without IS risk losing classroom placement
