Weekly Tiger Times- September 5, 2026
Dear Rose Families,
This was a short but productive week at Rose! Students enjoyed Fall Pictures- they should have received their new ID cards printed on the spot. We also held our Title I / Attendance Matters Meeting, where families had the chance to:
✨ Learn what Title I is and how it supports your child
✨ Share parent rights and opportunities for involvement
✨ Review our Parent Involvement Policy and Home/School Compact
✨ Look at Rose’s student achievement data and goals
✨ Talk about the importance of attendance, barriers families face, and supports available
Thank you to all who joined us- your involvement helps us grow stronger together!
📚 Homework Habits at Home
A strong school day starts at home! Here are a few tips to help your child build good homework and study habits:- Create a routine: Set aside a consistent time and quiet place for homework each day.
- Keep expectations reasonable: Aim for focus and effort, not perfection. Praise persistence!
- Bedtime matters: Elementary students need 9–11 hours of sleep to be alert and ready to learn.
- Happy mornings: Prep backpacks and lunches the night before, and build in extra time to avoid rushed starts. A calm morning helps students feel ready for the day.
🌟 NED Assembly – September 9

- Never giving up
- Encouraging others
- Doing your best
🏈 Attendance Draft Week is Coming! 🏈
During the week of September 15-19, our school is aiming for the ultimate goal: 100% Perfect Attendance every single day! Just like in a draft, every player matters- and we need all of our students “on the team” to win. When your child is present every day, they stay on track with learning, help their class reach the goal, and show that they’re an MVP in school. Let’s work together to make this a championship week- no absences, no tardies, all in! Winning classes will earn prizes! And we'll end the week with a Sports Spirit Day on Friday, September 19. Students are encouraged to wear their favorite sports gear to show their team pride! Let’s go Tigers!🎨 Jersey Design Contest
As part of Attendance Draft Week, we’re holding a Jersey Design Contest!- Each student can design their own team jersey.
- One winner from each class will have their jersey made into a poster and showcased in the hallway.
- Submissions are due Monday, September 22.
- Winners will be announced at our ROAR Rally on Friday, September 26.
🎶 Spirit Week – September 29
The fun continues the week of September 29 with another Spirit Week, featuring our exciting K-Pop Day and a Labubu/Lafufu raffle! More details will be shared soon.📝 Independent Study Reminder
While we encourage families not to schedule vacations or extended absences during school time, sometimes it’s unavoidable. Rose will be following our Independent Study policy this year:- IS contracts are for 3–14 missed days only
- Must be requested 10 school days in advance
- New this year: Families will meet with administration before approval
- Work must be fully completed and returned for absences to be excused
- IS is not available: first 10 days of school, before/after breaks of 5+ days, or after April 1st
- Students absent 10+ days without IS risk losing classroom placement

✨ Student Spotlight
This week, we’re thrilled to celebrate some of our amazing Rose Tigers!🌟 Joey Bun & Emma Brown (4th Grade, Mrs. Flores’ class)
“These girls LIVE for softball! They absolutely love playing and proudly identify themselves as softball players! Joey discovered her love for the sport last Spring through Emma and it’s been the best experience! They have always been best friends at school, and now they’re also softball besties — and it absolutely makes our hearts so, so happy!”

🌟 Aariya & Ruhi (Mrs. Ochoa’s and Mrs. Tran’s classes)
“They initiated their own hotel called ‘Busters’ where they provide all sorts of services. Over weekends, they offered spa treatments (we as parents each got amazing outdoor spa massages!) and even home care services where they accepted requests for chores and clean-up. They created tickets to scan and check-in systems for every request. It was simply adorable and wonderful — a playful yet responsible way to show their Go ROAR traits at home!”

💛 We are so proud of our Tigers for shining both in and out of the classroom!
